"DRUG CARNIVAL"


College can and should be an exciting, enriching experience for everyone after secondary school.
When students stepped the college door they are unknown to all this drug carnival stuffs which are coming from ages by their seniors. But due to their undefined self-estimation of doing things better than others and to prove to them that they are good enough to adjust to this kind of stuff, they take part in, without any hesitation pretending that they are into it.


This is not the story of a few colleges but this drug carnival has its own importance in the reputed educational institutions like IITs and IIMs which are well-known institutions in India and outside.
According to Mr. Chidamabram, India has turned into a big market for narcotics.

According to some surveys, found that 83.6 percent of 19-28-year-old students drank alcohol, 39.7 percent used Marijuana, and 42.8 percent used any illicit drug, which is when compared to the previous rates and percentage then it would be a question mark on the securities thread and also on the institution management.

When asked the students, they have smart answers – Students say the drug boosts cognitive function and enables them to study for hours with full concentration without getting fatigued. They commonly called them “smart drugs” or “study drugs”, or the “cognitive enhancers”. Many students have experimented with drugs and drug trafficking has increased immensely. While alcohol is the drug of choice for most college and university students, they also misuse illicit and prescription drugs, and the use of “date-rape drug” are on the rise. Drugs like Adderall and Ritalin, generally prescribed for attention-deficit disorder, are increasingly being used by college students to help them study despite serious effects. Although Adderall and Ritalin might sound like wonder drugs that can help students study for hours, these drugs are amphetamine-based drugs.
Nobody can give you the details of all the street drugs but the college student reveals you the drugs and the place for the good one. Even I got the good ones and also tasted some of them. Some of the drugs used by college and university students are –
  • ·        Street Narcotics like heroin and opium.
  • ·        Ecstasy is a partial derivative of Amphetamine and is sometimes classified as a hallucinogen like MBDB, MDE, MDA, MDEA, and 2CB.
  • ·        Cocaine, the user feels alert, confident, talkative, and strong, effects last for about 45 min. Used as coke, snow, blow, Peruvian marching powder, or C.
  • ·        Hallucinogens, senses seem to be enhanced, and brilliant hallucinations occur, it include acid, Bart Simpson, liquid, orange cubes, wedding bells, etc.
  • ·        Marijuana getting “stoned” makes users feel relaxed and talkative. Some evidence shows effects may last for days or weeks.

Whatever the result but it’s a colossus journey experience that we will not have in our future anymore; even I enjoyed it very much and experienced and faced the new mystified world…
